Castle Cost is in the nature reservation Český ráj. It is near the town Sobotka in the north-east of the Czech Republic. It is between three ponds. And over there are deep forests and rocks. 

 

 


History

Castle got name after its inexpugnable. Because it lived through all the danger wars in the middle age. It was built by Beneš from Vartenberk before1349.Then it has many transforms and some new parts of it. Last line of owners was Lobkovic at 1637.Kost was to be destroyed in 1658 but they stopped this plan. Water which went to the walls of the castle destroyed quite one part of it. Then they turn into corn loft.
In the 1946 were many corrections because it was burn and the roof was destroyed. And today Kost owner is earl Kinský.
