Lipnice

History

People built this chateau in 14th century. Its first owner was Raimund of Lichtenburg. Then in 1370 his holder was Karel IV (CharlesIV).

This castle is one of the biggest castles. Lipnice was on a trading trail (leading from Moravia to Bohemia.)

LEGEND

Long time ago there lived a knight. The knight liked alcohol and he often hurt girls (and then he locked them in Samson’s Tower where they died).  He could not find a new girl for a long time. One day he devised a terrible plan:

He found a nice girl Anna. Anna didn’t know that the knight was dangerous, and the knight kidnapped her. She was afraid but he told her: ”I want to marry you. “ It was a lie. Anna cried. The knight was angry, so he closed her in Samson’s tower … BUT his mistake was that he also went in the tower, slammed the door (that is what angry people sometimes do), and he was closed in the tower! He died there and that was punishment for his bad life.  THE END

POEM No.1 (Johanka Chlapkova)

In the Czech Republic there is one castle.

Here lived Ann and she had plan

Because bad people wanted to destroy the castle.

But only at night.

Her plan was: I must catch one cat and two rats.

But only Chinese cat because I love my china.

Ok, come back……

Rat running around the castle

And near door will be a pestle.

The cat wanted a rat, but the rat touched the pestle

O Jesus, here is a ghost!

And the pestle falls down and bad people think

We can’t destroy this castle
